Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains what Muxwire ("we") collects and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
Account data: your email address, a securely hashed password, and your plan.
Machine metadata: the names you give your machines and basic status (online/offline, hostname, OS) reported by the agent so you can manage them.
Billing data: if you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details — we never see or store full card numbers; we keep a customer reference and your subscription status.
Operational data: standard logs and error reports (via Sentry) to keep the Service running and secure.
What we do NOT collect
We do not store the contents of your terminal sessions, files, or the code on your machines. That content is relayed between your machines and your authenticated browser and is not retained by us. Muxwire runs on hardware you own; your work stays on it.
How we use it
To provide and secure the Service, authenticate you, process payments, send transactional email (via Resend, e.g. verification and password resets), and diagnose problems. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Subprocessors
We rely on a few providers to run Muxwire: Render (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Sentry (error monitoring), and Cloudflare (DNS). Each processes limited data on our behalf under their own terms.
Retention & your rights
We keep account and billing data while your account is active and as needed for legal and accounting purposes. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account data and machine records. To request access to or deletion of your data, email us.
Security
Connections are encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed (scrypt). The agent connects outbound only — we never open inbound ports on your machines. Sessions use signed, expiring, httpOnly cookies.
